OUR STORY

Urban Xtreme is the vision of Founder + CEO Lindsay Davis; supported by her husband Darren Montgomery. After recognising a niche in the market for a snowsports training facility in Brisbane and the increasing interest and current trend in adventure activities, the idea was born.

Urban Xtreme is officially Australia’s largest Ski + Adventure Park and the only place you can ski and snowboard in Queensland. We are a family run business, devoted to the physical, emotional and social development of adults and children – providing a place where everyone can find the fun in ﬁtness through adventure.

HOW THE IDEA WAS ESTABLISHED

Lindsay and Darren, originally from Northern Ireland, live locally in Brisbane with their 2 beautiful children, Eva and Dylan. They have always been a family of thrill seekers, fitness enthusiasts and keen snowboarders. After immigrating to Brisbane in 2009, they discovered a lack of facilities where they could participate in adventures activities as a family or a local place they could introduce their children to skiing, and practice and enhance their own ski and snowboarding skills.

After 15 years of working as a Manager in the events industry, Lindsay started to work passionately towards their goal of creating a business that was meaningful, purposeful and one that embodied her families values and beliefs. She believes her purpose in life is to educate and encourage the community to lead active lifestyles by ‘finding the fun in fitness’ and creating a place that encourages active participation between families and couples. Lindsay is a strong believer in the motto ‘those who play together stay together’.

Ben Baker joined the team as co-founder and CFO in 2017, bringing with him a passion for Laser Tag and extensive experience in the family entertainment industry. Ben is the Founder of two indoor family entertainment centres (Laserzone Brisbane & Sunshine Coast). He has over 15 years’ experience in family entertainment centre operations, management and marketing, as well as 20 years experience in Laser Sporting participation. Ben is Australasia’s most decorated player in the 20 year history of the sport. He is also a qualified accountant with a Bachelor of Commerce and a first-class Honour’s degree in finance, majoring in Accounting.

The passionate team have been working tirelessly to raise the capital they require to build Australia’s largest Adventure Park and bring this unique facility to the community of Brisbane. Our team has expanded from 5 people in 2017 to over 95 staff in 2021, offering not only opportunities for the community to get active and try new sports but also supporting the local economy by providing employment. A big thank you to all our current investors who have contributed to building the Urban Xtreme dream and of course all the community for coming to the centre and enjoying our facilities.
